Family Reunions

Are you trying to think of something everyone will enjoy as you try to get the extended family together for a vacation?  That's not always an easy thing to do: everyone has such different interests, not to mention busy schedules.  As you plan your getaway together consider exploring Lake Temagami on our houseboats.  It may be the ideal solution.
Each family can have their own houseboat, allowing for some privacy and space.  It's not always easy to get away with your own family, so maybe you'll want to spend some special time with just your kids for part of the week.  Everyone can then get together to enjoy one another's company for the rest of your time on the lake.

Our houseboats tie up side by side quite nicely at a campsite where everyone can get together for some quality time.  There are lots of things to do: enjoy a campfire, play games, go swimming and catch up on all the latest happenings.   Take along a canoe for a quiet paddle in the evening to explore the shoreline.  Let the kids set up their games in one of the houseboats when they need some down time.  Take some time out for reading or just taking a nap on a warm afternoon.  You can still take some time to explore the lake, stopping in different locations for the night, or just going out for part of the day.  Some may choose to go for a hike on one of the many trails on the lake - plan to see the view from Ferguson Mountain, or follow one of the many portage trails  from Lake Temagami to some of the nearby lakes and rivers.  

You can take along a pontoon boat that will seat many people for exploration as a family.  Or you can use the pontoon boat for some people to head out fishing.  Maybe you'll be the one to boast that you caught the largest bass as everyone enjoys a good fish fry.  For sure there will be stories to tell about 'the one that got away'.

There are several campsites well suited to large groups on Lake Temagami where you can all tie up close together and there's room for the kids to run around while the adults sit and visit.  We can advise you as to their locations and how long it takes to get there.  We can also give some suggestions about nearby trails if you are interested in exploring on foot as well as nice places to swim.
